Taxonomy
Actita munsteriana was named by Fahrenkohl (1844). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Karowa, which is in a Carboniferous carbonate horizon in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Platyceras munsteriana by Knight et al. (1960).

Knight 1941Irregularly horn-shaped gastropods of moderate size with the earliest whorls helicoidal, coiled seemingly in contact, the last whorl free and expanding rapidly and irregularly; the form of the apertural margin and of the shell itself irregular and seemingly variable and probably influenced by irregularities of the surface to which the shell was applied in life; ornamentation seemingly irregular, slightly foliaceous growth lines. There are no spines.
