Taxonomy
Volutocorbis pakistanica was named by Eames (1952). Its type specimen is BMNH G.66932, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East of Safaed, south of Tobah Kund, Dera Ismail Khan District, which is in a Lutetian marine shale in the Domanda Formation of Pakistan.
