Charleuxia was named by Heyler (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Charleuxia autunensis.
It was assigned to Canobiidae by Heyler (1967) and Gardiner (1993); to Charleuxiidae by Heyler (2000); and to Palaeonisciformes by Sepkoski (2002).
