Taxonomy
Phillipsia (Griffithides) scitulus was named by Meek and Worthen (1865). It is the type species of Ditomopyge.

It was recombined as Griffithides scitulus by Smith (1897); it was recombined as Ditomopyge scitulus by Newell (1931).
