Taxonomy
Palaeotherium lautricense was named by Stehlin (1904). Its type specimen is MHNT PAL.2010.0.51, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Montespieu, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial horizon in France.
