Taxonomy
Gevanites epigonus was named by Parnes (1975). Its type specimen is GSI-M-7085a, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Makhtesh Ramon (Saharonim Fm., Limestone-Marl Mb.), which is in a Longobardian carbonate limestone/marl in the Saharonim Formation of Israel.
