Taxonomy
Ashanga jiuquanensis was named by Wang et al. (2017). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Hanxiagou, Chijin Town, Jiuquan City, which is in an Albian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Zhonggou Formation of China.
