Taxonomy
Cixius discretus was named by Li et al. (2017). Its type specimen is CNU-HEM-QZ2015001, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Caergen Village, Duohemao Town, Zeku County, which is in a Burdigalian lacustrine shale in the Garang Formation of China.
