Taxonomy
Microphorites erikai was named by Bramuzzo and Nel (2017). Its type specimen is MNHN PA 979, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Oise amber, Le Quesnoy, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial amber in the Argiles d'lignite du Soissonnais Formation of France.
