Levisograptus dentatus
Taxonomy
Fucoides dentatus was named by Brongniart (1828) [Bulman (1963, p. 672) selected GSC 943 (Hall 1865, pl. 13, figs 16ā17) as the neotype of Fucoides dentatus Brongniart, 1828.]. Its type specimen is GSC 943 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Levisograptus, Amansites.
It was recombined as Amansites dentatus by Brongniart (1849); it was recombined as Diplograptus (Glyptograptus) dentatus by Ruedemann (1947); it was recombined as Glyptograptus dentatus by Mu and Lee (1958); it was recombined as Undulograptus dentatus by Maletz (1997); it was recombined as Levisograptus dentatus by Maletz (2011).
