Taxonomy
Climacograptus innotatus pacificus was named by Ruedemann (1947).

It was recombined as Climacograptus pacificus by Carter and Churkin (1977); it was recombined as Paraorthograptus pacificus by Williams (1982), Melchin (1987) and Chen et al. (2005).
