Retiograptus eucharis was named by Hall (1865).

It was recombined as Glossograptus eucharis by Ruedemann (1908); it was recombined as Lasiograptus (Thysanograptus) eucharis by Ruedemann (1947); it was recombined as Orthograptus eucharis by Goldman (1995).
