Taxonomy
Diplograptus (Orthograptus) pageanus was named by Elles and Wood (1907) [Lectotype BU 1222]. Its type specimen is BU 1222 and is a compression fossil.

It was recombined as Orthograptus pageanus by Goldman (1995).
