Taxonomy
Poirieria levis was named by Traub (1979). Its type specimen is BSP 1943 II 334, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kch 8, Kroisbach, Haunsberg near St. Pankraz, which is in a Thanetian marine horizon in Austria.
