Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
J. B. Knight 1941Spiral gastropods of moderate size, with gently arched dorsum, subangularly rounded sides, widely open umbilicus, and shallow dorsal sinus seemingly culminating in a short, narrow slit giving rise to a narrow selenizone; whorl profile gently arched dorsally, subangularly rounded at the sides and seemingly turning steeply into the umbilicus; umbilici widely open; nucleus unknown; apertural margin seemingly sharp and without flare; parietal inductura seemingly wanting; anterior lip with a broad shallow sinus culminating subangularly at the dorsum in what seems to be a narrow slit seemingly about one-quarter whorl in depth, which gives rise to a narrow selenizone; both slit and selenizone seemingly bordered by low, thin, and fragile flanges that are usually broken away; selenizone flat, with very fine lunulae; ornamentation fascicles of rather fine, rounded, wavy, revolving lirae, the fascicles narrower and composed of only two lirae close to the selenizone and wider and composed of more lirae, sometimes as many as six away from the selenizone, the revolving ornamentation which parallels and does not converge upon the selenizone crossed by fine lines of growth of varying strength; shell seemingly thin, its structure unknown. The holotype has a diameter through the coil of about 33 mm. and a width of about 30 mm.
