Aenigmatias longicornis was named by Brown (2016). Its type specimen is Hoffeins 254/3, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Bitterfeld amber (Hoffeins collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Germany.
