Taxonomy
Hildaites sanderi was named by Arkell (1952). Its type specimen is SM F10682, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 59, Jafair Trail (Aramco S-1032), which is in a Bifrons carbonate limestone in the Marrat Formation of Saudi Arabia.
