Taxonomy
Erymnoceras philbyi was named by Arkell (1952). Its type specimen is SM F10799, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 31, Barra area (Aramco S-1198), which is in a Callovian carbonate limestone in the Tuwaiq Mountain Formation of Saudi Arabia.
