Taxonomy
Normannites egyptiacus was named by Arkell (1952). Its type specimen is Geological Survey Museum, Cairo 16685, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gebel Aroussieh (Upper Bajocian indet), which is in a Bajocian marine horizon in Egypt.
