Sowerbyella grierensis
Taxonomy
Sowerbyella grierensis was named by Howe (1979). Its type specimen is USNM 208592, a valve (pedicle valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 4956-CO. Road exposure on w. side of Kentucky River, at bridge crossing of Central Kentucky Parkway on n. side of parkway, near Salvisa, which is in a Shermanian carbonate limestone in the Lexington Formation of Kentucky.
