Tancrediopsis contracta
Taxonomy
Ctenodonta contracta was named by Salter (1859) [DISTRIBUTION: Ordovician; North America.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wilson Loc 001. Paquette Rapids, east end of Allumette Island, which is in a Rocklandian carbonate limestone in the Bobcaygeon Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Tellinomya contracta by Walcott (1884); it was recombined as Ctenodonta (Tancrediopsis) contracta by Beushausen (1895); it was synonymized subjectively with Tancrediopsis cuneata by McAlester (1963); it was recombined as Tancrediopsis contracta by Cossmann (1897), Cox et al. (1969) and Toni (1975).
