Taxonomy
Strombodes pentagonus was named by Goldfuss (1826) [Neotype selected by Scrutton 1989]. Its type specimen is GSC 90730 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Arachnophyllum pentagonum by Scrutton (1989).
