Taxonomy
Aeschnopsis perkinsi was named by Bechly et al. (2001). Its type specimen is MCZ 6180, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Solnhofen (MCZ coll), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
