Taxonomy
Acanthocrania elusa was named by Cocks (2014). Its type specimen is BC 60471, a valve (external & internal mould of dorsal valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry near Old Mille Café, Tucking Mill, 2 km west of Llanddowror, which is in a Cautleyan carbonate mudstone in the Slade and Redhill Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
