Taxonomy
Eostropheodonta portfieldensis was named by Cocks (2014). Its type specimen is BB 98441, a valve (ventral valve internal mould), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Housing estate 300 m west of A 487, which is in a Rawtheyan carbonate mudstone in the Slade and Redhill Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
