Taxonomy
Lonchidion derenzii was named by Manzanares et al. (2017). Its type specimen is MGUV-27744, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boyar section, level 92-A-40, which is in a Carnian shallow subtidal limestone in Spain.
