Eopholidostrophia (Megapholidostrophia) mediocostalis

Strophomena mediocostalis was named by Reed (1905). Its type specimen is SM A30833, a valve (ventral valve internal mould), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Upper Slade, near Haverfordwest, which is in a Rawtheyan marine mudstone in the Slade and Redhill Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Pholidostrophia (Eopholidostrophia) mediocostalis by Cocks (1978); it was recombined as Eopholidostrophia mediocostalis by Cocks (2008); it was recombined as Eopholidostrophia (Megapholidostrophia) mediocostalis by Rong et al. (2013) and Cocks (2014).
