Eostrophonella polita
Taxonomy
Strophonella polita was named by Bancroft (1949). Its type specimen is SM A32041, a valve (dorsal internal mould), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Exposure on the side of North Gate Road, Haverfordwest, which is in a Rawtheyan marine mudstone in the Slade and Redhill Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Strophonella (Eostrophonella) polita by Cocks (1978); it was recombined as Eostrophonella polita by Cocks (2014).
