Taxonomy
Anchura gibbera was named by Webster (1983). Its type specimen is LACMIP 6465, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP 2858, Ammonite Ravine, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian marine siliciclastic in the Rosario Formation of Mexico.
