Taxonomy
Neoplatystrophia deani was named by Cocks (2014). Its type specimen is BB 98431, a valve (internal & external moulds of dorsal valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Housing estate 300 m west of A 487, which is in a Rawtheyan carbonate mudstone in the Slade and Redhill Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
