Taxonomy
Euomphalus hemisphericus was named by Hall (1843). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Straparollus hemisphericus by d'Orbigny (1849); it was recombined as Diaphorostoma hemisphericum by Gillette (1947); it was recombined as Platyostoma hemispherica by Hall (1852) and Wagner (2023).
