Taxonomy
Necrolemur raabi was named by Heller (1930). Its type specimen is GMH.CeI-4254, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Geiseltal, Ce I, Grube "Cecilie", which is in a Lutetian lacustrine lignite in Germany.
It was recombined as Nannopithex raabi by Hooker (1986) and Thalmann (1994); it was recombined as Vectipithex raabi by Hooker and Harrison (2008).
