Taxonomy
Telephorus attavinus was named by Heer (1847). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Radoboj (unspecified or Heer coll), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.

It was recombined as Cantharis (Cantharis) attavina by Fanti (2017) and Fanti (2017).
