Taxonomy
Malthodes rovnoensis was named by Kazantsev and Perkovsky (2014). Its type specimen is SIZK K-25818, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Rovno Amber, Klesov locality (SIZC K collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Ukraine.

It was recombined as Malthodes (Malthodes) rovnoensis by Fanti (2017) and Fanti (2017).
