It was recombined as Goniacodon gaudryanus by Scott (1892); it was recombined as Triisodon gaudrianus by Matthew (1897), Hay (1902) and Hay (1930); it was recombined as Eoconodon gaudrianus by Matthew (1937), Williamson and Lucas (1993) and Clemens (2011).

Clemens 2011 | Williamson (1996, p. 41) essentially followed Matthew (1937) and summarized the diagnosis of the species as follows: “This species differs from Eoconodon coryphaeus in its smaller size. It differs from Goniacodon in the greater transverse diameters of the molars and the unreduced M3.” |
