Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
A. C. Henrici et al. 2013 member of Anomocoela based on the presence of a spiral groove on the iliac shaft. Within Anomocoela two characters indicate pelodytid affinities: otic ramus of squamosal forms distinct process and the crista parotica reduced. Aerugoamnis differs from extant Pelodytes Bonaparte, 1838, in that the nasals are separated medially by a narrow gap and the pterygoid bears a ventral flange. It differs from Pelodytes and Miopelodytes Taylor, 1941, in lack of fusion of the tibiale and fibulare to form a single element.
