Taxonomy
Pholidostrophia salopiensis was named by Cocks (1967). Its type specimen is GSM 102720, a valve (Pedicle valve), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Mesopholidostrophia salopiensis by Baarli (1995).
