Taxonomy
Niassodon mfumukasi was named by Castanhinha et al. (2014). Its type specimen is ML1620, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tulo, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial mudstone in Mozambique. It is the type species of Niassodon.
