Epihippus (Duchesnehippus) was named by Peterson (1932) [Epihippus (Duchesnehippus) intermedius in figure caption; "That Epihippus intermedius may represent a distinct genus is entirely probable. When more satisfactorily detenpined this new genus may be called Duchesnehippus."
