Taxonomy
Pectinites regularis was named by Schlotheim (1813). It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was recombined as Neithea (Neithea) regularis by Dhondt (1973); it was recombined as Neithea regularis by Dhondt (1984) and Schneider et al. (2013).
