Taxonomy
Exogyra flabellata was named by Goldfuss (1833).

It was recombined as Amphidonte (Ceratostreon) flabellatum by Malchus (1990); it was recombined as Ceratostreon flabellatum by Bobkova (1961) and Mendir et al. (2021).
