J. L. Benedetto and D. F. Muñoz 2017 | Shell ventribiconvex or planoconvex with ramicostellate to multicostellate radial ornament. Ventral muscle field proportionally wide and short bounded posteriorly by well-defined dental plates and laterally by distinct ridges. Pedicle callist present. Ventral vascular system saccate, with pair of vascula media strongly diverging from anterior ends of diductor scars. Vascula genitalia large and clearly impressed in both valves. Notothyrial platform low, continuous with rounded median ridge. Cardinal process absent or represented by variably enlarged ridge. Fulcral plates visible only in youngest stages, completely embedded by secondary deposits in mature individuals. Brachiophore plates bladelike, slightly converging to the notothyrial platform. Dorsal muscle field quadripartite with bilobed anterior adductor scars. Dorsal vascular system saccate with conspicuous gonadal pouches between diverging vascula media. |
