Taxonomy
Neumania paucicostata was named by Egerquist (2003). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Standard section at Putilovo Quarry, P. originalis zone, Volkhov Stage, which is in a Volkhov shallow subtidal limestone/claystone in the Volkhov Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Palaeoneumania paucicostata by Hansen and Harper (2005).
