Tritoechia (Tritoechia) prima was named by Benedetto et al. (2003). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro San Roque, which is in a Tremadoc open shallow subtidal wackestone/grainstone in the San Juan Formation of Argentina.
