Treioria chaulioda was named by Neuman and Bates (1978). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ffynnon-y-mab, which is in an Arenig open shallow subtidal sandstone/conglomerate in the Treiorwerth Formation of the United Kingdom.
