Kvania primigenia was named by Benedetto (2007) [? Kvania primigenia]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quebrada Totora, Filo de Lipan, which is in a Merioneth coastal siltstone in the Lampazar Formation of Argentina.
