Phragmorthis antiqua was named by Ross (1972). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is D2052 CO. Meiklejohn mud-mound flanking bed, which is in a Whiterockian perireef or subreef limestone in the Antelope Valley Formation of Nevada.
