Taxonomy
Placotriplesia spissa was named by Popov et al. (2002). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kujandysai, Chu-Ili Range, sample 2538, which is in a Caradoc reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Anderken Formation of Kazakhstan.
