Taxonomy
Pionodema opima was named by Popov et al. (2002). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kujandysai, Chu-Ili Range, sample 7613, which is in a Caradoc shoreface sandstone/siltstone in the Anderken Formation of Kazakhstan.
