Taxonomy
Valerea multicellulata was named by Garrouste et al. (2016). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.A57315, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Menat (MNHN collection), which is in a Selandian crater lake diatomite in the Menat Formation of France.
